Dave Friedrich
Chairman of Elders
Dave and his wife Emily have been members of Grace Bible Church since 2010. Dave has served in a variety of roles over the years including elder, deacon, treasurer and a life group leader. Dave and Emily met at Hillsdale College in Michigan, where they both ran cross country and track. God blessed them with 5 very active children, 3 sons and 2 daughters. The family enjoys visiting National Parks, playing sports, hiking, swimming and being outdoors in God's creation. A verse that always challenges him is James 1:22, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
Joe Bennett
Elder & Equipping Pastor
Joe and his wife Chloe live to help others see and respond to the all-surpassing worth of knowing Jesus. They have two children, Judah and Nora. Joe is a graduate of Cedarville University and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The Bennetts love the community at Grace Bible Church and have a passion for equipping the saints for the work of ministry, building up the local church through the foundation of the Word.
Ed Dannemiller
Elder
Ed Dannemiller and his wife Karen have been married for 38 years. They have five daughters who grew up here at GBC and are blessed with eight grandchildren. Ed has been privileged to see God bless this church greatly as an elder here at GBC for the past 25 years. Ed’s passion is life groups, preaching, the discipleship of men and the proclaiming of the gospel. A clinical cardiovascular pharmacist is Ed’s profession, but most importantly he takes seriously God’s command to all believers to be His minister of reconciliation reaching into the lives of our lost friends, family, and neighbors to bring the good news of salvation and the forgiveness of sins through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Rob Moore
Elder
Rob has been worshipping at Grace Bible Church since 2004 and has served as an Elder, Deacon, Finance Team, Life Group Leader and many other positions along the way. Rob and his wife Sue graduated from Cedarville College where they met on the Cross Country and Track teams, they have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Rob likes to run, hunt, fish and root for Michigan football, basketball and wrestling. A passage of Scripture that encourages him is Proverbs 3:5-6 which says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths.”
Mike Pierre
Elder (On Sabbatical)
First, I thank Jesus for His grace and mercy in my life. Our Lord has been gracious in giving to me my lovely wife of 34 years, Mary. We are blessed to have three children who are walking in the ways of our Lord. We enjoy outdoor events like fishing, swimming, & hiking. We also enjoy reading and learning from God's Word. We enjoy our time together as a married couple and are true Boilermaker (College) and Packer (NFL) fans. Mary and I have been at Grace Bible Church for almost 23 years and have grown to love the people of God! We have taught in our youth program for many years, led an Awana program in our church emphasizing the importance of God's Word, and led men and women in other discipleship areas. All I can say is that God is always at work and we just want to join Him in His work.
Matt Winkler
Elder
Matt gave his life to Christ when he was 13 years old. Matt met his wife Tammy at BGSU and were married in 1985. They have 7 children and have attended Grace Bible Church since 1992. Matt and Tammy love serving together particularly in the areas of marriage, parenting and counseling. Matt retired from his catering business of 25 years in 2020 and is looking forward to what the Lord has in store for this next phase of his life. A verse that helps Matt keep a proper perspective on the challenges of life is Lam. 3:21-24 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore, I will wait for him.”
