Current Children’s Bible Studies
Nursery (Newborns to 35 months)
Our goal is to provide a safe, loving environment and create a positive image of “Church” and the church family in the child’s mind by making the nursery a pleasant experience.
Guidelines for Parents:
- Please drop off and pick up your children at the appropriate door and do not leave until you have signed in your children, listed all pertinent information and received a pager.
- Please do not bring sick children to the nursery! This would include a temperature above 99.6 degrees, vomiting, diarrhea, or cold symptoms.
- Please pick up your children immediately after the service and return pager.
- Provide sufficient diapers (and a plastic bag if cloth) for each child.
- Please have diaper bags, bottles, diapers, and other personal items marked with your child’s name.
It’s preferred that the nursery volunteers work four half slots in a row (ie. the whole month), either the 1st half (9:15 – 10:45 am) or the 2nd half (10:45-12:15 pm), however, we realize that some of your schedules won’t work with this preference and will be appreciative of any help and can definitely use people to fill-in. (Also, only one teen per shift…unless they are working with their parents.) Thank you for your willingness to serve our church family by caring for their little ones! 🙂
Please note: Our pastoral team encourages volunteers to serve only one shift on any given Sunday.
Time Slot Preference: 9:15 – 10:45 am OR 10:45-12:15 pm
Outline for Nursery Stay
9:15 am first group of volunteers arrive (please find and put on your name tag)
9:15-9:30 am kids arrive…sign-in and warmly welcome each child (please be sure to give each parent their half of their child’s name tag and help them locate their correlating cubbie and pager)
10:00-10:30 am free play-time and coloring time
10:30-10:45 am lesson time (have “all” the toddlers sit in the “class room corner” and read books to them)
10:45-11:15 am snack time…along with watching musical DVD (please be aware of any allergies…they will be listed on each child’s name tag). Also diaper changes/bathroom break (of course, change diapers or take potty whenever needed throughout your stay) and have everyone ready for parent pick-up at 11:15…even though most kids will stay for the second half.
11:00-11:15 am second group of volunteers arrive (please find and put on your name tag)
11:15-11:45 am free play-time
11:45-12:00 am double check diapers/take kids to bathroom, if needed…instruct kids to start picking up their toys and help put them in their proper places (make cleaning up “fun” for them)
12:00-12:15 pm kids get picked up…sign-out each child
12:15-12:30 pm nursery volunteers help with “major cleaning” (washing cups, tables, chewed on toys/taking out trash/vacuuming/mopping/spraying/disinfecting, etc…) then leave to go home 🙂
